Most women don't have that. They have information. But they don't have someone who knows them.

And here's the thing about women and money: We don't talk about it. Not with our friends. Not with our family. Not with anyone. Often not even on a deep level with our spouse. We make financial decisions in isolation. We struggle alone. We feel shame about what we don't know.

Misty says this comes from culture. We've grown up in a world where money is taboo. We haven't been told it's okay to talk about it. We haven't been given permission to gain wisdom and knowledge about it. And often, we're not even aware of our household finances, which adds another layer of shame.

But here's what changes when a woman finds a real mentor:

She stops making financial decisions in the dark. She has someone to ask questions. She has someone who can see her situation from the outside and offer perspective. She has permission to talk about money. She has someone who has already walked the path she's on and can show her the way.

Misty talks about how she found her mentor, a woman who had been a single mom, raised seven kids, and had hard-won wisdom. Misty drove an hour each month to see her. She cleaned her house just so she could watch and learn.

That's mentorship. That's someone who values the relationship enough to invest in it. That's someone who understands that you don't just ask for wisdom for free, you show up, you contribute, you honor the other person's time and experience.

And it changed everything for Misty. She still talks about Kathleen and the things she learned when she was in her life. Years later, decades later, she's still using that woman's wisdom.

So here's my question for you: Do you have a real mentor? Someone who knows your life, your struggles, your wins and defeats? Someone who can guide you through your specific situation, including your finances?

But you don't have to stay there. You can find someone. You can pursue relationship intentionally. You can invest in mentorship, whether through time, service, or money. And when you do, your financial life and your personal life will transform.
